Nineteen agencies in the Valley benefit from AIDS Walk Phoenix. One of those agencies is highlighted below. Please note that all agencies benefit equally from all AIDS Walk Phoenix events.
Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS is a nonprofit AIDS service organization, serving 70 percent of Arizona's nearly 13,000 infected residents in addition to the more than 25,000 at-risk individuals affected by HIV and AIDS. Our vision/mission is to lead the fight against HIV/AIDS by preventing the disease, enhancing the quality of life of those impacted by the disease, and by contributing to a worldwide body of knowledge. Prevention, wellness and research are the core areas of the agency's mission and reason for existence. This includes community-based programming to address HIV/AIDS prevention needs, health support services to meet chronic needs, and clinical trial and non-clinical research.

Paws for the Cause Frequently Asked Questions
How can my dog participate in AIDS Walk?
Friendly, good-natured dogs can be registered to walk with their registered owners. Additional funds can also be raised in your pet’s name. Check out Fund-raising tips and tools for your pet in the Paws Section. At the conclusion of the Walk, fantastic prizes will be given to the top three dogs that raise the most money!
How do I register the day of the event?
There will be a large registration area for people and dogs that will accept cash, checks, and credit cards. There will be a specific spot for pet owners to register in the registration area.
What does it cost to register my dog?
Dogs can register for $10, which includes a commemorative bandanna. You must register first before you can register your dog. Assistance dogs can participate free of charge, but must be registered prior to the event. Email us at PAWS@auntritas.org to register your Assistance dog.
Where will my dog check-in and pick up their bandanna?
We will be checking-in dogs and distributing bandannas at the PAWS for the Cause tent located to the west of the registration area on the day of the Walk. We will also be giving out treats and other goodies courtesy of our sponsors!
What if my dog gets tired along the way?
There will be shaded rest stops along the route, with water for both participants and pets. If your dog is unable to complete the Walk route, you can take one of several Waggin’ Trail short-cuts which will shorten the distance of the Walk for you and your pet. Check out the Waggin' Trail. Please know your pet's limits and take the appropriate Waggin' Trail. We can also provide a ride back to the finish line if your pet gets too tired.
May I wear rollerblades, ride a skateboard or scooter, or run the Walk?
No. AIDS Walk Phoenix & 5K Run is a running and walking event only. However, strollers, wheelchairs, and pull wagons are welcome. You may not run the Walk.
