BENEFITTING AGENCY

Nineteen agencies in the Valley benefit from AIDS Walk Phoenix. One of those agencies is highlighted below. Please note that all agencies benefit equally from all AIDS Walk Phoenix events.

Phoenix Children's Hospital

The Bill Holt Clinic at Phoenix Children's Hospital is the only comprehensive pediatric HIV clinic in the state of Arizona, providing comprehensive care for children and adolescents exposed to or infected with HIV. The clinic, founded in 1994, is a multidisciplinary program providing family-centered care. A team of specialists works together during the patient visits to provide specialized medical care, nutritional support, child life services, and psychosocial support. The team works together with families to maximize the health of children/adolescents affected by or infected with HIV. The clinic provides testing of exposed infants, children, and adolescents.

Frequently asked questions about walking in AIDS Walk Phoenix

Where does the Walk/Run start?
[ Click to view Route Map ] All Walkers and Runners will gather on Washington Street near Cesar Chavez Memorial Park located between City Hall and the Wells Fargo Bank Building. The address is 200 W. Washington Street. The route moves west along Washington, circles the Arizona State Capital and returns east on Jefferson to its beginning point.

What time does the Run and Walk Start?
The 5K Run will start promptly at 9:00 AM and the Walk will begin five to ten minutes after the last runner has passed the starting line.

How do I get there? Where Should I park?
You can conveniently take the Metro Light Rail and exit at the Jefferson St/1st Avenue Light Rail Station. You may opt for street parking or you may park in the Wells Fargo Garage south of Adams on 1st Avenue for a nominal charge. Note that the entrance to the garage requires crossing the tracks and continuing south to the garage entrance. Be sure to obey the right turn arrow.

What does it cost to Run or Walk?
The cost for the Run is $30 and the cost for the Walk is $25. Walkers may register the morning of the event at no additional cost.

May I register at the morning of the run?
Yes. Walkers may register the morning of the event at no additional cost. Runners must pay an additional five dollars.

May I run and walk?
Absolutely. Double your fun for the price of one.

May I create or join a Team?
Yes. You may create or join either a running team or a walking team. Even though you are a walker, you may join a running team and not run. If you are a walker, you might want to join a running team to help them raise additional funds.

May I wear rollerblades, ride a skateboard or scooter, or run the Walk?
No. AIDS Walk Phoenix & 5K Run is a running and walking event only. However, strollers, wheelchairs, and pull wagons are welcome. You may not run the Walk.
